"Punk Poet" Patrik Fitzgerald's debut EP from 1977. Unforgettable classic with the title track later gaining additional fame (sort of) through the Bartlebees cover (which you should also check out).

Excerpt from the AMG bio by Jason Ankeny:
Born in London in 1958, singer/songwriter Patrik Fitzgerald ranked among the most memorable of the so-called "punk poets." He debuted in 1977 with the EP Safety Pin Stuck in My Heart, a collection combining the outrage of punk with a streak of optimism rare for its time and place; indeed, Fitzgerald's sincere attitude and eccentric appearance -- commonly, a badge-cluttered blazer, red drainpipe trousers and sandals -- set him squarely apart from his new wave brethren, and he was frequently the target of considerable derision from elitist audiences.

A compilation of some of the finest solo material from the legendary producer, whose more popular for his antics and producing The Raincoats than for his own music. Kind of a shame, considering he recorded some of the most endearing garage psych of the 60s.

Painstakingly assembled with Kim's full co-operation, Impossible But True features titles spanning 1960-69, many of which appear on CD for the first time, including gems such as The Comedown Song by Spider (actually P J Proby's hairdresser - "he wasn't gay" says Kim); Reelin' Feelin' Squealin' by the Soft Machine , (the B-side of their first ultra-rare 45), To Die Alone , a US garage band classic by the Bush (some of whom joined the legendary Misunderstood) and Fowley solo classics such as The Trip , and Animal Man .
